What Wi‑Fi network do I need?

It’s best to have the mixer wired to the router, or to have the mixer itself share its internet (see the drawings under Recommendations). If everything is on Wi‑Fi, the mixer included, there may be dropouts.

The phones have to be on that same network, with a good signal to the router, or to the mixer if it’s the one sharing.

If the mixer is an iPhone 12 or later sharing its internet, turn off “Maximize Compatibility” in Personal Hotspot so it shares on 5 GHz.

Do I need internet?

Not to sing: audio goes from device to device over your network and never goes to the internet. You only need it if the Streamer plays something from the internet.

Why wired headphones?

Because over Bluetooth the sound arrives late, and with your own voice you notice. With Bluetooth headphones, or none, the phone is only a mic and you listen through the speaker.

Headphones with a USB‑C or Lightning plug work, or 3.5 mm ones with an adapter.

Can the speaker be Bluetooth?

No. The mixer plays through a cable (an audio interface, a headphone adapter or HDMI) or through its own speaker. Bluetooth and AirPlay delay the sound, and the music and the voices would drift apart.

Where does the music come from?

From the mixer, which plays the songs and videos you have in the Files app.

Or from a Streamer: a phone or iPad that shares its own device’s audio with the mixer, using the system’s screen-sharing option; only the audio is used. It reaches the mixer as one more track, so the speaker and the headphones play together. Requires iOS 27 or later.

If, instead of a Streamer, the mixer itself shares another app’s audio (iOS 27.2 or later), there’s no monitoring: the phones are only mics and everything is heard through the speaker.

Some apps don’t allow their audio to be shared, and then it arrives silent.

How do I record?

On the mixer, with hitNote Pro. It records the session: what comes out of the mixer, the voices plus the audio it receives. It’s saved in the Files app (hitNote › Grabaciones), ready to share.

How do I make a video?

With the camera button on the singing screen: record, then stop. hitNote swaps the camera’s audio for the mixer’s and saves it to Photos, with the hitNote watermark. Don’t close the app while it’s being put together.

Anyone who’s connected can record one, singing or not. It needs hitNote Pro on that phone and on the mixer.

Who needs to buy hitNote Pro?

The mixer, to take several phones, record and use all the effects. And each phone that wants to hear itself in headphones, use the effects or make videos: that works when the mixer has hitNote Pro too.

A mixer with hitNote Pro also lets one phone without the purchase sing (just one), as a mic and with Reverb.

Does the purchase work on all my devices?

Yes. hitNote Pro is bought once per Apple ID: it works on all your devices, as mixer, singer or Streamer, and with Family Sharing. The price in your currency is set by your country’s App Store.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes. Any iPhone or iPad can be the mixer, sing or be a Streamer.

Can I use a real microphone?

Yes. On the phone, a USB or Lightning mic. On the mixer, up to 4 inputs of an audio interface, or a USB mic.
